Is my clutch going?

I have a manual transmission 04 civic, while at a stop light I tried three times to get it into 1st gear, the engine would only rev at first but then it grabbed on the third try. I think it has slipped out of reverse a couple times as well. Is this the clutch? It is a recently purchased used car, but I don't think it's because I am just not used to it. It feels like it is sluggish when accelerating as well.
