power steering hose

Yes you will need to loosen the engine mounts to sneak the hose out from the car. Here is a video so you can see how a hose is changed with a diagrams below to help you see what to do on your car.

I have a leaking power steering line on a 2006 honda accord V6 LX. Is this a difficult or costly repair? The local dealer is quoting $450. (2.5 hours of labor). Seems a little high to me.

Could be a little high labor is 1 hr. and hose $130

my 2004 honda accord started making a constant loud noise when outside temps go below 50. Mechanic here added fluid to power steering and noise went away for about a week. I see no fluid leaks nor did he. Any ideas. Is it dangerous? It is a four door sedan

If you have to add fluid to p/s then check for a leak, the power steering pump may be bad since it was run without fluid.

2004 Honda Accord 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 104k miles

I got a problem and its getting on my last nerve i dont know what to do. My power steering squeals early in the morning but after a while it goes away. I looked under the hood and noticed the fluid was low. I bought honda fluid filled it. The next day i noticed the fluid wasn't where i filled it at last night. I looked under the car and there was a big puddle of fluid power steering fluiid by the looks of it. I also read another post saying something about the O-Ring is this a possibility because there is oil at the connection from the hose to the power steering pump. Your power steering hose may have a crack or hole in it that is causing the leak, however, since you stated that there is fluid leaking at the connection to the power steering pump then the O-ring could be faulty or the hose has simply came loose.

Ps system is noisy, hose little wet.

Preferably use a flare nut wrench so as to not round the head of the fitting. The pressure hose is the one with threaded fittings on both ends. The fittings unscrew counter-clockwise. Follow the same routing as the old hose. Remove one end first and allow it to drain into a pan. Once drained, remove the other end. Which end is which doesn't matter.

That part I know, hose already loose, can't seem to get it out by rear mount any suggestion.

Yes, both sides are loose. there is a bracket under the rear mount. Can't find a diagram of the PS system for removal.

Do you have a basic set of tools, standard size and metric? You use the right size tool and take the fittings loose. It appears to be fairly straight forward.

I have a small leak in my Power steering return line. Can I use something like rubber cement or jb weld to stop the leak

no you have to replace the hose if it's a return line it may just have clamps on it and available at auto parts.

The power steering pressure line has an obvious leak to it, I already bought a replacement I just need a better explanation on how to go about replacing it.

This is a straight forward job. Loosen the joint at steering rack to drain the fluid. Remove the joint, remove any portion in between that is holding hose. Remove 2 holding bolt at poser steering pump and manouver the hose out.
