dashlights sporadically go out in the evening.

Canyon GMC 2004. 5cyl crew cab. The dash light problems doesn't always happen..to me it seem like a loose connection somewhere? if i stop and kill the engine the dash lights may turn back on or the may not. the radio and it back-lights are also the radio is involved also the clock gets real dim. The truck has the auto headlights.. is there a sensor that might be dirty or a fuse. just asking most probably out of my knowledge and will have to take it to the dealership.
