sounds like a possible vacuum leak. do you mean it stays at high rpm all the time?

check throttle plate when warmed up engine off to see if it's shut completely.

if i touch the throttle it goes up to 3000 rpm.then drops down to 1500 rpm. when driving along it surges. where is the throttle plate. is it the air flow sorry if i sound thick lol. thanks for fast reply. regards peter
