I had my truck die on me while pulling away from traffic lights, it coughed and spluttered and felt like it was running out of fuel (despite having 3/4 of a tank). The truck would not restart.
I tested the operation of the fuel pump by separating the fuel line before the fuel filter and starting the truck, the fuel pump was operational. I checked for a blocked fuel filter by separating the fuel line after the fuel filter and the filter was not blocked. I checked for fuel flow to the fuel rails by separating the fuel line from the rail and there was good flow. I checked connections to the injectors and other electrical connections.
Vehicle would still not start.
I disconnected the battery and reconnected after 5 minutes.
The vehicle restarted and i drove it the 30minute journey home.
I drove the truck the next day and it cut out again after 5minutes of driving. It restarted after 5 minutes at the side of the road and then cut out again moments later.
From what i have researched it sounds like a FPDM problem but i need to be sure before i spend out on the part; i am NOT getting a P1233 code which most people associate with a bad FPDM.
