Bought the truck with front driver's side damage.

Put rack and pinion on before purchase. After driving a few days, we noticed the steering becoming progressivly harder to steer, especially to the lef; the problem seemed intermittent though. Steering would "clear up" and seem normal, then all of a sudden would be so hard you could barely change lanes. You'd be steering hard trying to change lanes, then all of a sudden steering would loosen and almost side swipe someonet. Then the problem worsened to the point we had to turn into roads with two hands because it was so stiff. Left and right. Almost took a ditch getting in the driveway.

When we got home, power steering fluid was leaking from the boot all over the ground.

So our mechanic replaced the rack under warranty twice from one parts store, but we have been paying for alignment each time!

This last time (3rd time) has not been the charm. Here we are again, can't steer. New parts store, new part, No power steering leaks, but the same exact feel to the steering, same behavior.

WHAT GIVES?? Help??

have the front end checked I'd have to bet that there is a front end problem or frame damage I'd have theframe checked first then the front end.
