Tire question I have some 235 65 snow tires on 17 in rims I would like to put them on my v-8 the tires on them are 265 70s will that much reduction in size be counter productive, or would they be ok and still give a good safe footing and traction on the snow?

Hello,

The 235/65/17 tires are going to be narrower and smaller in overall diameter than the 265/70/17 tires.

To get adequate grip depending on the vehicle size and weight you will need to have a certain width of the tires as well as the tread compound and pattern.

If you use a smaller tire, it can impact the traction, also the speedometer will have incorrect reading. Smaller tires will make the speedometer read at a higher speed.

So, these tires might work but it will not be going to be ideal for your vehicle.

Here is a helpful video on tire sizes:

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
