I ave a o4 neon i was driving and it made kinda a clunk but noting thats a big deal or anyting i havent already heard in a floor banger with that many miles my check engine light came on now its not slipping in any way nor is it making any grinding or winding sounds but it seems like it goes thru 1st just fine and sec but it seems its stuck in third now the car will go faster then that gear will allow for say and it dose not seem engine is working any harder maybe slightly. it will allow rpms to drop and rise and usual and they are not jumping.its dos not get stuck in third and stay it dose retract. I'm hoping its some kind of electric stuff which would be great. Are there any codes I should be looking for? all fluids are good not discolored or smells unusual. Are there any other signs i should be looking for? now i did stop the car a.s.a.p im not taking any chances driving while light is on.please help thanx
