I have been driving this car around now for about 2 months with the check engine light on. I had the codes read and was given the P0700 and P1776. I have flushed the transmission fluid and changed the filter. No change. I have replaced the input speed sensor. No change.
Here is what I have learned from driving with the problem. When the car is cold, first started I can speed up over 42MPH and slow down fine. But once the car hits the quarter mark on the temp guage, it will no longer work fine. What happens is once I go over 42MPH and go to slow down, the car will **** at 20MPH and will not shift out of 2nd gear until i stop turn the car off and restart it. The car will be ok unless i go over 42MPH and slow down again. Now once the cars temp hits about the half mark on the temp guage, I'm able to drive over 42MPH and slow down fine with no problems. Car runs great.
To me it seems like there is a short or bad grounding somewhere. I'm thinking about running additional ground wires to couple different areas on the engine and PCM/TCM and see if that helps. It also seems like once the low/high fan relay kicks in is when the problem starts until the high fan relay takes over and the problem stops. I swapped the relays but no change.
What do you guys think?
