The cylinders have low compression, even as low as 65 pounds. The highest being 105. The vehicle will not start, and I have absolutely no idea what is wrong.

The car attempts to start. The problem is caused from what is believed to be the engine over-heating..

You may have blown a head gasket or the timing belt is off time. You need to get it confirmed. I bet on the timing belt

How could a trimming belt cause low compression?

The timing belt controls the cam and crank settings. If those setting are off, the valves will not open and close when required.

That is a test for a timing belt issue.
