my car started shaking and not eccelarating well it also makes a clacking sound when not eccelarating the rpms are running abnormally low but do increase when eccelarating

IF the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned to identify where the problem is coming from. Check to make sure the catalytic converter isn't plugged. Check fuel pump pressure.
