2004 Chevy Blazer won't start (battery drained) in very windy and wet weather. Wires and distributor cap checked for cracks. Thanks!

have you cleaned and treated all ignition parts with waterproofer like wd40 or silicone spray or another product made for this application?

That is a great idea. Will be replacing dist. cap and (rotor?) button today. Do you suggest OEM not aftermarket? (I saw this suggetion from expert related to another Chevy Blazer). Thank-you!

oem would be anybody's choice if cost savings were not involved? i hardly ever do unless there is specific evidence that it's actually needed. but i'm retired and havn't really kept up the quality of aftermarket discounted parts much.
as to the battery drain, is this from cranking alot with the no start?

i would add that a lot of times i would choose oem if the part is very difficult/time consuming to replace. i might even choose used oem over new cheapo.
