I put the AC on the temperature goes back down to normal 205 deg. I was driving got caught in traffic, truck started overheating message came on saying overheating. I pulled over immediatly, waited for 1 hr. then continued on. I started moving again the temp went up so I put on teh ac and temp went back to normal at 205deg. then when I'm driving for a while i shut the ac off and temp stays normal.

I changed the water pump about 100,000 ago

I checked the fan and turned it counterclock wise and it has resistence, i thought it might be the clutch.

I'm stumped

it has something to do with the fan clutch. if it does not turn at idle, then yes, it will overheat. there is an update flash for the computer on this issue. I have done many of them for this reason.

I am not there but as I said, there is a flash update on that issue and you need to have it confirmed first before throwing parts at it. the clutch is not cheap and may not need to be replaced just told by the computer to come on at the right time.
