My car shut off three different times. Each time it was the same problem; the gearshift gets stuck in park, the lights, radio, heater etc. work, but I can't get the car out of park. The first time, they told me nothing was wrong because it started up again at the dealership. The second time they told me it was the battery and "overhauled" the battery. The third time they said it was the battery again and replaced the battery. Do you think it could be the transmission? Should I ask for or demand a new transmission or transmission overhaul?
