Location of Idle Control Valve

it is on the throttle body. you need to post only once. we all look at the questions and answers.

by the way. i suggest getting it fixed asap as a high idle can cause stopping issues

What size engine do you have?If you have the 3.6L it doesnt use a iac it uses the throttle plate to adjust idle.

The IACV is on the throttle body-what exactly is it doing?

When I take it out of drive the rpm's jump up to 3000. I have a 3.4L

i think her original post was 3.4

If you cover the throttle body opening and it idles down and dies you know the problem is within the throttle body area or computer control wires etc.If it doesnt you have a big vacuum leak.

Your welcome thats what were here for.I would check for a vacuum leak before suspecting the idle air control valve.

I will check for the vacuum leak first. That seems like it would be easier to fix.

Depends on where its leaking keep us posted on what you find.

When I got home I took a look under the hood and listened for a whistling sound. Turns out that when I got my oil changed last week the kid that took my air filter out never connected it back up. The air filter wasn't put in right and the hose was never connected. Once I put it all back together my car has been driving perfectly fine. Never going back to that place again.

Glad to hear you got it all figured thats why i do my own oil changes and all myown work on my car.
