2004 Buick Century brakes hit the floor

A few months ago I got brand new breaks and this morning I nearly killed my self when I made a stop and my break pedal hit the floor could it just need break fluid ?

check the fluid but it may be air in system so will have to be bled by a pro or it's an abs problem.
