I live in Long Island NY the temp right now is approx 25 degrees, My vehicle is a BMW 2004 with 85,000 miles, yesterday I starded the vehicle drove for approxemetaly 10 miles on side streets and once I got on the highway a big cloud of white/grey smoke comes out of the tailpipes for about 3 seconds. Keep in mind that the vehicle drives fine, no lost of power, no warning lights, no overheating. After this happen I continue to drive for 30 minutes on the highway with no problems. I stay at work for 10 hrs, going home the same thing happens. Once in the morning and once at night.

It could be condensation in the exhaust system or it could be something more ominous, can you respond to my associates question?

Our forum is set up to allow access to all the responding parties, when you send a private message as a response to a question in an open thread, the original responder can't see it. Jacobandnickolas requested to know if there was coolant added. Your response was to the affirmative (in the message addressed to Dr. Hagerty) This might be the beginnings of some larger issue, you might wish to have the cooling system pressure tested straightaway.

It's me again. Dr.haggerty is an outstanding BMW mechanic, so listen to what he says. I have no idea if your question has been answered.

Let me know if you have other questions.
