My car wont start in the cold...unless it gets a jump start..I have taken it to the garage its been on the diagnostic computer but nothing showing the battery has also been checked and thats ok can you advise please

i turn the key dash lights up but when i try to pump the accelerator I get nothing it wouldn't start in the cold yesterday morning yet when i got home from work it started first time?

Beyond "pumping" the accelerator (which is pointless in a fuel injected car) what is the starter doing, is it engaging and turning the engine over, or is there just nothing, even if you hold the key in the start position?
