Car started overheating last fall. Put some barr's stop leak in it last year just to try and it seemed to work as it got me through the winter. Car recently started overheating on the freeway and steam was coming in the vents of my car. The car did overheat to the red but I noticed it fairly quickly. I decided it was probably a heater core leak. Noticed definite "hissing" from one of the flanges on the firewall. I decided to bypass the heater core until I have more time to replace it. So thought the problem was fixed for the time being.

Drove the car maybe 20 miles and noticed again that it started to overheat. Now there is visible steam and coolant coming out of seemingly two injectors closest to the firewall. i let the car overheat just bit so i could locate the source of the steam. Revving the engine to about 3000, I could see coolant spewing out from what i can tell was one or both of the injectors closesst to the firewall. I pulled the fuel rail and did a visual inspection. Other that being quite dirty, on one injector has a small peice missing from the tip.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

most likely have blown a head gasket from the overheating and maybe a cracked head. Have the system leak down test done to determine the head gasket. I would replace the reaiator as the stop leak clogs up all the cores and that may have contributed to the failure
