Your timing belt get's replaced at 100,000 mile's so you still have a little time for that.The labor is 3.5hrs time's shop labor rate 80-100 per hr?The factory list price on the belt is 113 plus tax.As far as belt goes you can just replace the belt.But you will also be do for your 100,000 mile service.

One last question, I read on a blog (not sure the reliability, that's why I'm asking) that when the timing belts replaced the water pump should be too. Is that usually the case? The reason they say that is because the water pump is under the timing cover and it would be cheaper to replace it when you do the belt.I have seen a lot of the 2000-2002 L model saturn's water pump leak but the later L model's not so many.
