Car will not crank over or start

2003 Saturn l200 will not make any noise when key is turned headlights interior lights dash lights and even radio comes on but when key is turned nothing happens attempted 2 start when jumped but then smoked a little then nothing else did I completely burn out my starter?

**No crank at all/nothing/nada when key is engage to starting position

Could be a blown fusible link, the starter, starter relay, clutch switch/park and neutral switch/transmission position switch and ignition switch assuming the battery condition and connections are good. Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.

Well I just had the engine rebuilt and bought a redtop from autozone in august so could it still be the battery cause like I said everything comes on was starting right up soon as I purchased the battery but now its been taking longer and longer
