saab 9 3 looses power fuel guage stops functioning no cruise runs very rough and pulses at idle

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked the IAC? Vacuum leaks? Fuel pressure?

the engine light is on, I am not sure what IAC is and the fuel pressure is correct according to a Saab repair shop

also the light flashes and it codes vacuum leak but I have check all hoses and found nothing

Double check the intake for vacuum leaks as well as hoses and EGR. As far as the IAC, it is the idle air control solenoid. It maintains a smooth idle. Were there any other trouble codes?

no and the first thing that happened was my cruise stopped functioning, pulled over checked fuse everything was fine, when I pulled out it was like my engine had been replace with a weedeater motor, next day ran perfect again and no problem for 5000 miles or so then started the same way again, now it won't stop and the shop is at a loss as well and actually becoming expensive just to keep replacing stuff especially electrical that I can't return once I put it on and it doesn't fix the problem

u have a bad engine control module ,post fault code that u have will better be able to direct u then ,but if the code u have is a p0605 that is a faulty ECM [engine control module] .

I have just had the same problem with my '03 93. Try charging the battery. Didn't believe it myself but apparently the fuel management system is the first to go when the current drops.
