Dealer fixed Coolant leak by replacement of intake manifold set with $760.
Tech found fluid is very sticky said oil mixed in the brake fluid and need to be replaced for a new brake Master cylinder by quoting $500. Is the price is fair? before I replaced Master cylinder in another GM car just paid $130. Is it possible do by myself?
Thanks for your input!

First, how did engine oil get into the brake system? I see no way that could have happened.

As far as the cost, the flat rate calls for 2 hours labor. Then you have to pay the for the part. You can purchase one for around 75.00. Plus, there is brake fluid. So add 5 more dollars.

That leaves 420.00 in labor. Do they charge $210.00 per hour labor? If so, find a new shop.

I want to replace it at home. If I can find a tech he work at my house it is nice.
I will start the work soon.
Thanks!
