2003 Pontiac Grand Prix Starter

Hi fellas im having a problem with a no start on this car. The relay clicks,the neutral safty switch has power to the yellow wire (12v)with the key in the start position when unpuged but when I plug the wire in it no longer has power to the wire. The purple wire has no power out of the switch. I cut the purple wire and then had power all the way down to the splice,so I ran a jumper wire from their to the starter. Still nothing..so I un hooked the jumper from the starter and had power to my test light but it losses power when connected to the starter. I can jumper the starter strait from the battery and it will crank..
