Can you tell me if there is any one item (belt tensioner, belt, pulley, water pump, etc.) that will make a "tick- tick" kind of sound when replacement is near? When I spray belt dressing, or CRC type spray on drive belt the ticking sound dissipates, but doesn't completely disappear. Didn't know if this model vehicle or engine is known for what I have described above? Also, if you do suggest or mention a particular item, could you please also include in your reply and means of determining such. Please advise back. Lastly, Thank You for your forth coming reply.

it could be any pulley causing it. get a 3ft. stick about 1/4 inch in size.start it up and place it by each pulley and to your ear.you will find the problem.

Not sure if my 1st reply went thru as I was just trying 2 spell check a word & everything disappeared. Anyway as I was saying, U guys crack me up, I realize that 10 bucks doesn't buy much these days put that's really the best U can do " get a 3 ft. stick"...really? I was hoping 4 an answer that was a bit more sophisticated and or technical. Question; won't jamming a stick into a pulley moving @ 800 RPM, not only break the stick but also possibly rip out my ear drum?? LOL I'm thinking now that my $$ would have been better spent @ 2cavemenpro's.com. U guys kill me. Thank you & I will let U know if that does the trick.

One of us must b smoking crack, because how in the world could you check 2 see which pulley is making the tick tick sound if the engine isn't running? So indeed the engine has 2 b running, therefore what r u talking about when u say "the stick is 2 only b used on a non-moving part"?
Aren't all the pulley spinning when the engine is running????????? Talk about being confused???

PUT THE STICK OR SETH-SCOPE TO THE ALTENATER , COMPRESSOR,AIR PUMP,POWER STEERING PUMP,NEAR THE WATER PUMP BEARING,NEAR THE TENIONER AND IDLER PULLEYS .THEN YOU WILL KNOW WHICH PART IS MAKING THE NOISE!
