How to perform maintenance on a front differential?

Car sometimes makes grinding noise mechanic says front differential is crack( I think its the case/housing)

I need to know how to inspect it and see if anything inside is damaged before I replace the fluid and JB weld it

First, I don't know what is cracked and question if JBweld is what you want to use.

Once i get it on a lift i can check the differential and see what the deal is, but i'd rather have a pro take a leak

You do know that this doesn't have a traditional differential. It is a transaxle
