Oil seems to get dark pretty quick now. It's already dark after only 200 miles since last oil change. I've always used the factory oil filter and Mobil 1 motor oil. Any thoughts?

you've got a high compression engine with a decent amount of miles. do you have any running problems? if not, there are services available thatll flush the oil galleries. id try them first.

Sounds good. Just out of curiosity, could it possibly be a faulty engine oil cooler? I will definitely look into some sort of engine flush.

no id say theres no real problem but engine sludge buildup happens to any engine. good for you for checking your oil regularly. most don't even change their oil. lol

Yes I know a couple of people that were running on sludge instead of oil. Well I change the oil religiously every 2500-3000 miles. Some of the Evo forum guys say that as long as you always use good full synthetic oil you should never have to do an engine flush. I say it depends on driving conditions, geographical location etc. One last question if you don't mind...I was thinking about using Amsoil engine flush as opposed to Gunk. What do you think?

Hey guys I got my bottles of Amsoil engine flush in the mail but the instructions don't specify whether the engine should be warm or cold when performing the flush. Does it matter?

it really shouldn't matter. you should have to run it once its added so its realy no big deal one way or the other

Well I did the flush on a cold engine just fyi. After adding the new oil and running the engine for a minute the oil on the dipstick hadn't changed color...not even a little. Before the flush it would change color just a little. So that's encouraging. I'll see how it goes from here. Thanks again.
