feels like the transmission is not engaging

GTS model. Okay guys, so I found the right transmission for the swap. After swapping them out now it feels like the transmission does not engage when I shift it out of park. Even with the front end on jack stands the tires do not spin at all when giving it gas. Also, it is not throwing any codes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure the "new" transmission was good before you installed it?

I am not 100% sure, but it has always got or miss at a pick and pull. If it not then I am able to take it back and pull another. I just need to know if theirs a way to trouble shoot the issue I have now or do I have to go figure d another one? And if I need another one is their any way to check to see if that one is going to be good?

If you have a scan tool and pressure gauges there are ways to test the transmission. They are outlined in the service manual. If you do not have a copy it is a great resource.

Nothing special there. Just a high pressure gauge and the proper fittings for that trans.
One thing I have seen happen with a trans that has sat for a long time is that they "dry out" because the fluid all drains down and parts get sticky.
Was this trans drained or did it still have fluid in it?

No it was empty had maybe a 1/3 of quart when I pulled drain plug

What I figured. Over fill it, start the engine, run it through the gears and let it set a bit. Repeat a couple times. Drain and refill to the proper level IF it starts working. If not, You might consider getting a kit and rebuilding it. They are not that difficult if you pay attention to the directions and keep everything clean.
