I have a 2003 Mecury Sable. I was driving uphill and my car came to a stop. I was able to go in reverse but not forward. I towed my car to my house (level land) and tried to go forward again. My car will make the noise like it wants to accelerate but my car does not move. I was told this could be a transmission issue and to check my transmission fluid. I did this but I did it when my car is not warmed up all the way. The fluid came up to the wording on the dip stick, exceeding the full line. Can you please advise what the issue may be and any recommendation of how I can fix this issue without involving a mechanic. Thanks! :)
