My check engine light came on... was hesitating a little while idling... took to dealership and they hooked a machine to my vehicle to run a check to see what it registered. He told me that the engine was running lean. Apparently the fuel is not running through at 100% or their is some air. He said someone in Service would have to do more checks... What can I do in the meantime or how to fix it? Is it safe to drive? He said it was unless I hear tapping sound. Thank you...

Hello,

There are several reasons for the vehicle to trigger a running lean code.
It could be for a vacuum leak, bad spark plugs, faulty mass air flow sensor, leak in the exhaust, defective oxygen sensor. It can even happen if there is a leak in the air intake boot.
The best course to action is to look at the possible trouble areas until you find the issue.

Here is a helpful article that covers all the basic issues and what to look for:

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
