Trouble codes P0980 and P0717

The problem codes are there all the time. Do you need to drop the transmission to change the shift solenoid and turbine speed sensor or can the two be changed simply by dropping the pan?

I am also attaching the process on how to replace it so to answer your question, it is only requiring to dropping the pan and removing the valve body.
