With the car turned on i have no power to blower motor fan on any speed and light does not comes on when depressing the A/C switch.
• checked the #10 fuse inside left front - continuity okay
• checked power at blower relay socket with test light - power verified,
• tested 30 amp relay outside of fuse box, actuated okay.
• removed the blower motor and blower resistor.
• tested the blower resistor pins 1-3, 1-2, and 2-4 all reading were within specs and very close to a “known” good blower resistor readings.
• tested the blower motor with 12 v. Spun freely.
Tested blower resistor four pin socket/connector:
• i was able to get 11.8 voltage reading at each pin when switch was set at 1 then 2 then 3 and finally 4 moving the vom leads around to corresponding socket. I could hear the relay actuate with each test light.
• tested the blower motor socket and i was able to get 11.8v on blue (power side) of socket also heard relay actuate
• on a separate test there’s continuity from blower resistor to blower motor blue wire.
I have a suspicion that there maybe an issue with the ground? On the blower motor i got ~12v on one side however using the test light connected to positive terminal i could get nothing! No ground, when i tested the connectors with the vom i was able to get ~ 12v however when i used the test light it was a quite dim light. I don’t believe my circuit is completed. Any idea where to check ground points on this circuit? Any further assistance would greatly be appreciated.
Any ideas regarding the A/C switch?
Oh by the way, changing out with a known good relay, blower motor and resistor didn’t.
