How do you resolve an emission control system vent value malfunction? How do you also resolve an emission control system pressure sensor warning? I have a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT that sits relatively low to the ground. I put my boat in the lake yesterday, and some water came into the exhaust system when putting the jet ski in the water. I strongly believe the water caused the emission control errors. I can fix both of them myself; I am very mechanically inclined. I just need to know where they approximately are.

first of all, what code?? the vent is at the cannister but you need to be sure it is bad first. you need a shop with a smoke machine and a scan tool to manipulate the valve to be sure it is ok. after they diag it, then you can replace the needed parts.

The first code was PO449, and the second code is PO452 that was given by my auto code reader. I contacted the local Hyundai Dealer (parts department) closest to me; the parts that match the description for my Tiburon's error(s) are the fuel tank pressure sensor and the fuel tank vent valve. I should be able to purchase both parts, but I have never installed either part before. What is the usual location of the specified parts on a Hyundai vehicle?

they are in the rear of the vehicle back by the reat tires in the center close to the cannister. they are easy to change but becomes an expensive guess if they are wrong.
i suggest a real diag from a real shop to confirm before purchasing the parts.

Your best bet is asemaster6371 advice to have it diagnosed and thn replace the bad items or wiring etc.I posted the trouble trees for those two codes just so you can get a idea of what is involved in diagnosing it.The first trouble tree posted is for P0449 then the second one is P0452.The vent valve is under the rear seat are under the car.The fuel tank pressure sensor is on top of the gas tank.
