4.3 4wd cluncks very loud when going out of 4wd hi to 2wd with no load, any speed, but no noise going in.

4wd works well in hi and low. I have had other GM 4wd's and could go in and out of 4wd hi with only a small noise i'm concerend that this one makes a very nasty clunk. Any idea's? are these known to be loud? Is this serious or an adjustment?

Not a common problem. Have you checked the transfer case to make sure the fluid is clean and full?
