2003 GMC Envoy Shifting problems

I was trying to run to somebody and talk to them ASAP as I was driving and they were on the sidewalk . I was going less than 15 miles and started braking immediately and shifting into drive, well when I did that I heard these loud clicking noises and the car parked but "jumped". Did I do any damage?

Does the transmission still lock in park?

I don't think so, i feel that you may have knocked the selector into park, but if it still locks up the trans in park position there should be no issue here.
