loud noise,sounds like tires and shaking over 55 mph,with weight in car is worse

Anyone at a tire and alignment shop should be able to figure this out. Some things to look for include corrosion / debris that got stuck behind a wheel and is causing it to wobble even though it's tight. Ford had some cast wheels that used locking lug nuts that were so heavy, they needed to have a half ounce weight added across from it after the tires were balanced. Wheels can be bent on some older-style tire changers or from hitting a curb or pothole. They can balance out at the one speed a spin tire balancer runs at, but you'll still feel the wobble on the car. The mechanic will measure the wheel "runout" with a dial indicator to check for that.

i went to firestone they said it could be my differenical or however u spell it or my drivce shaft.but wd that just all of a sudden go out?it started after i puta sandbag in my trunk and drove on freeway.also they said my calipier was sticking on front passenger side but dt think thats has anything to do with the louid tire sound and shaking??thanks april

Just something to look at. My wifes firebird did that. We had 3000 miles on the tires and they seperated causing noises in the back. Could not see it when on the ground but after taking it off could see the seperation. The car is not driven much and found the tires had been sitting around for some time at the store. Check manufacturing date. I tried to paste the add but would not work so go to, ask. com and look up tire manufacturing date and compair to your tires. Just because we bought new tires they were 3 years old allready. It may not be the problem but it does happen. Our tires were just out of warrantee and I had to get 4 new tires.
