Hi

I'm asking for my mum. Her car has failed mot only on omissions test. Failed last year on same thing but she was told to put smoke stop stuff in oil. She also added something like that in petrol. However, this time black smoke/liquid is flooding out still. She's taken it for a good run, and really revved engine up but no joy.

She cant afford a new car and so u said id get on here and see if anyone has any advice to get it through the mot.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Kerry

Hi

Its kind of grey/black, but grey mainly. She revved it up while I watched. It shot out a bit of black liquid and it stained the floor very black in a patch under the exhaust.

Thanks, Kerry

Sounds like cold start up with condensation out the exhaust, not a real problem, what needs to be done is get the engine up to full operating temp, drive and get the emissions tested to see if the O2 sensor is working, what did the car fail on for the inspection?

Tune and scan and try and get a live data read to see if the O2 sensors are working
