2003 Ford Focus PCV hose

I have been hearing a whistle sound some where it has been doing it for a while. Is that maybe the vacuum leak I have been looking for does anyone know how I would check that hose if any one knows a ford focus you know that the hose is behind the intake manifold, the thing is this engine only cuts out at idle only could that still be a vacuum problem . Thanks
