A sudden code of EGR Insufficient Flow

I have a 2003 F-150 5.4, and had recently changed all 8 ignition coils and plugs. I installed E3 spark plugs, and Granatelli 20,000v coils. After the parts were changed I got a reading of EGR Insufficient Flow. Is this because of the upgrade to the ignition system, or could I have possibly damaged something during the install?

your egr may have stuck open. if it does it again make sure the valve on teh egr is clean..

I appreciate that. I took the connection on the top of the EGR off and covered the valve with my finger, and it made no difference. From what I was told it should have idled down or stalled. Is that correct?

ya it should have but things don't always work like they are supposed to

Low flow codes on a ford are usually caused by one of two possibilities. They either get the passage in the intake plugged up with carbon or they have a bad DPFE sensor. Both very common.
