I'm working on a E550 with a V10 and theres a very small vac leak and the heater core is making a very loud noise when it gets up to operating temp. I've checked for a vac leak & can't seem to locate it. Any suggestions?

Heater core could be clogged-up-check and flush and see what happens as for the vacuum leak-check vac hoses/intake manifold and vacuum operated components-with a water spray bottle/WD-40 when you hit the right spot the engine will react to it-

well I have tried that but still can't find the vac leak. I will check the core for being plugged. I thought maybe its the heater valve but this one doesn't have one. could it be the thermostat?

if the heat is good, core is ok. check ldle air control valve, some make what is described as a honking sound.

The other thing is cores sometimes make a swoosh type noise, if it's a loud screetch, it probably the blower motor.
