Trying to help out a friend and possibly buy the truck he replaced the ignition switch and now it wont start . Is there something to with reseting tje security system some how?

If you're using a different key now, it needs to be programmed to the security system.

What if i buy a new ignition switch with a new key? Does it stii have to be programmed ?
