transmission p1776 and p0700 codes?

SYMPTOM
P1776-SOLENOID SWITCH VALVE LATCHED IN LR POSITION

WHEN MONITORED
Continuously when doing partial or full EMCC (PEMCC or FEMCC).

SET CONDITION
This DTC will set if the TCM senses the L/R Pressure Switch closing while performing PEMCC or FEMCC or after two unsuccessful attempts to perform PEMCC or FEMCC.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

RELATED DTC P0841 PRESENT
L/R PRESSURE SWITCH
TRANSMISSION CONTROL RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
L/R PRESSURE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN
L/R PRESSURE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
L/R PRESSURE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE
INTERMITTENT WIRING AND CONNECTORS

Hi,
I have an update. I drove the van last evening after I wrote the post. The shifting was normal and the check engine light went away. Is this normal? Do I still need to replace the solenoid pack? Also, would that fix the LR pressure switch. The solenoid pack was replaced a year ago. Should I also or instead of replace the TCM? ANy thoughts?

Nobody recommended you replace any of those things. The circuit needs to be troubleshooted and since the problem appears to be intermittent, that may prove difficult.

I have had an update. I took my van to the normal repair guy and he said there was a bulletin put out by Dodge to have the engine computer and the transmission control module wiped and updated. We did that ($300), it worked for 4 days. I am wondering if it really needed it. My wife thinks we were taken advantage of. If the diagnostic showed any component repairs short of rebuilding the transmission I would have attempted it. But, reprogramming the computers is something that I couldn't do. Would the Dodge dealer have detected something faulty with the circuits for the pressure switch or the TCM when they reprogrammed it?

The best way to fix the this problem is to get a rebuilt valve body and installed, here is how in the images below.

P1776 - Solenoid Switch Valve Latched in LR Position, indicates that the solenoid switch valve is stuck in the Low/Reverse (LR) position.

P0700 - Transmission Control System (MIL Request)
