recently I went to a restaurant and when getting in the vehicle, it took 5 cranks before it started. its had a shaking idle for a while but never something like this. at home checked fuel pressure and got nothing until it started. I decided to replace the pump thinking the regulator was the issue, been built on the pump assy. I installed 2 new fuel pumps and I hear the pump coming on when the key on but there is no fuel pressure at all, it wont start at all. I bought the pump from A1auto. I've checked the 20a fuse , the relay, all checks ok. tempted to put the old pump back on just to see if actually starts..what do you think

hey there, that's for the reply...only 2 codes p1684 battery disconnect and p0071 ambient air temp sensor circuit low. the engine light came on as I was pulling in the drive way and the engine was stalling. fuel pressure is 0. I have pulled the line off as far as the pump, nothing comes out, not even a drip. ex Chrysler tech in 2001, never seen something like this. I hear it when the key turns on, but no pressure. thanks

has to be something leaking inside tank or broken hose connecting pump. or it's hooked up backwards. should be 53-63 psi or the strainer is plugged.

I actually dropped the gas tank again and re-installed the old pump. still have the same issue, I sprayed an entire can of brake cleaner through the intake and had it running for a few minutes until I ran out of the brake cleaner. I was reading that there is a transistor inside the pcm which sends the signal for the pump to actually start pumping. I'm running out of ideas, after 3 fuel pumps, and still no pressure

no idea what to tell you, after startup the pump runs off of oil pressure gauge I don't think the transistor is the problem it would not get any power to it which you say it is so no idea what to tell you.unless it's a blocked line, etc.

you dont' have to go to a dealer, many garages do just as good of work for a cheaper price.
