2003 Chrysler Sebring coolant system

Car tries to overheat when idling for over 3-5 minutes. White steam that smells very slightly like burning coolant. Upon inspection, small puddles of coolant sizzling around 3 hoses that are next to the coolant tank, coolant level is down, and there are no significant visible leaks. We added co we added coolant, and the car was fine for a couple days, then the issue returned. I'm thinking it's one of the 3 hoses that are right there. Am I right?

Very doubtful, but have you tried tightening the hose clamps? Where are you seeing that white smoke? If it's from the tail pipe, have your mechanic perform a chemical test at the radiator for a leaking cylinder head gasket.

It's not smoke, it's steam, and is coming from the small, sizzling pools of coolant directly beside the hoses that run from the coolant reservoir into the radiator. It's not the head gasket. The very small pools of coolant are on top of the motor, more than 6 inches above the gasket. I'll tighten the clamps and see what happens.
