Check this link, https://www.2carpros.com/diagrams/chrysler/pt-cruiser/2003 the page will give you engine timing belt and info first, scroll down to the bottom, the last pic is the tensioner, place a spanner on the pulley nut and apply pressure in the direction of the arrow.

I replaced my water pump and timing belt. car starts and runs fine, but now my ps,ac belt will not line up.I have put impact wrench on crankshaft pulley to insure that it's all the way back. please help

if you did this yourself, recheck your work, we have no idea what was done. if it was ok before and the new water pump had all the spacers replaced if there were any then everything shold realign

I dropped my crankpulley(balancer) to get access to the engine mount not to long ago. What is not lining up the serptine belt on the A/C and PW steering pulley? Such that the belt is to far out from the crank pulley? When I reinstalled mine I cleaned off the back of the pulley, the pulley both and the crankshaft itself to ensure there wasn't any left over thread lock or anything to prevent full seating when installing it. The belts lined up properly after I had done everything. Did you check the torque specs when you had finished snugging down the bolt to the required amount? I do think that there may be a small amount space that the pulley has to go to be to be fully seated.

very, very tight.

lossen the tensioners and remove belts. it is acessed from the bottom from the right front wheel

The power steering a/c belt sold @ stores is the wrong size(k040560). I went through multiple belts only to realize after ( and yes the belt wont go on with tensioner pulled back with out a flat head and manpower. I needed someone else to keep the tensioner back. ) it popped off at every acceleration. I just replaced it with k040570 . its about a half inch bigger. Slips right on. So far all good!

It did make the tensioner flap when when i first took off. Made a noise. After inspection and it didnt come off i revved the engion and it created a twist but holds good so far.
