DTC code PO341, parts book shows a part number 12561211 Camshaft Position Sensor. Chilton shows at rear of 6.0L gas engine block,
Mitchell shows near water pump, could be a misprint?

Don't mix the camshaft position sensor with the crankshaft position sensor. The camshaft position sensor has a smaller connector and is located on the drivers side rear of the engine.

The thing that was the distributor in the back of the engine, is really the cam position sensor. It has a cap, rotor & plus wires, but the timing chores are handled by the computer. The small wires comming out of the back of the housing come from the sensor and go to the computer, to tell it the camshaft position. If you pull it out, make sure you have the engine on TDC, #1 firing position, before removing it. There are no timing marks on the front dampner to help in realigning it if you don't.
