There should be screws in armrest, remove that and maybe remove inside door handle. Put a screwdriver around the edges and pry it and the door panel should come off. There are plastic clips all around the panel that hold it in.
Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
Cheers

I believe both are clipped into place. Check that, carefully, to see if it is what holds them. Gently pry on them (do not over force) and they one side should pop up and the other will be on a hing.

Remove the arm rest. Behind plugs, you will find the bolts holding thing together. Once the bolts are out, you will then need to unclip the panel from the door itself. Be careful doing this because the clips can break.

How do you get into the front door panels to remove them? I do not see any screws and do not want to chance breaking clips by forcing anything.

There are screws and clips. Chances are the screws are hidden behind a plastic cover. The clips are between the panel and the door. There is a tool made to remove them so they do not break.
