cloth top removal, how to remove it so i can recover it and put it back on...

step by step how is it removed then replaced after cloth is repaired.. i got an estimate for 1600 dollars to do it ,i think thats a steep price just to repair the stitchwork that has come apart.. cheap thread i guess. i donated 2.00 to the question already..so its really not a free question...

the top is glued on from the factory. the glue needs to be neutralized to release. a heat gun is the best way as it will soften the glue for removal. it is a process that is time consuming, thus the reason for the 1600. actually, it is not a bad price.

once removed, then repairs can be done. as far as installation, you will need the correct glue for installing. all, and we mean all the old glue must be removed, the surface cleaned completely before add ing the glue for installation.

this is far from an easy task. take your time.
