car has just begun to sputter sometimes?

2003 BMW Z4 2.5L Mileage: 74,000. My car has just begun to sputter sometimes. It has never given me any trouble until now. It will be running fine and then it stumbles and then gets going. Today it stumbled for the last time, any ideas?

It sounds like your fuel pump has failed. Do a fuel pressure check to make sure. Sometimes the pump will give symptoms like you described before they fail completely.
