745li radio cuts in and out

the radio cuts in and out, lights for radio is on and doesn't flicker. i can change channels but it still cuts in and out. the navigation system may have a problem as well. just doesn't want to work consistently but i don't really use it...i wonder if this car is going to be giving me too many problems. how expensive would this repair be?
appreciate any input

This sounds like you have a cold solder joint inside the radio these can be difficult to find. I would try to get a used unit or replaced it with an aftermarket unit.
